Wireless Cameras

In June of 2004, Target Corporation financed the first of 30 wireless cameras in the Downtown SafeZone.  Target Corporation not only donated $300,000 toward the purchase of the cameras, but it also used its buying power to purchase the cameras at a corporate rate.

These cameras are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the First Precinct command in Downtown Minneapolis.

As of March 2006, the wireless cameras have been used in over 300 arrests.  Over 248 of these have resulted in a conviction.

Thanks again to Target Corporation for their generous support!
