Joint Beat's

In April of 2005, Joint SafeZone Beats between law enforcement and private security began. They are meant to increase a uniformed law enforcement presence on the streets, as well as increase communication between private security and law enforcement. These patrols take place daily from 12:00pm to 3:00am, with the amount of patrols varying depending on the day.

This is a partnership between the City of Minneapolis Police Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the Metropolitan Transit Police, and the State of Minnesota Troopers. The four law enforcement agencies operate under a rotating joint command structure for increased partnership.
