Restorative Justice

On April 1, 2006 the Downtown SafeZone Collaborative began a new initiative with Restorative Justice Community Action.  Partnering with Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA) and the Minneapolis City Attorney's Office, SafeZone is thrilled to be bringing Restorative Justice to Downtown Minneapolis.  SafeZone participates with a police diversion program where officers give a direct referral for the program, so that individuals can participate with Restorative Justice immediately.

Built on the premise that offenders may work with the community in which they committed their crimes to complete community service or something similar, only 10% of offenders re-offend within three years.

For additional information regarding Restorative Justice, please see our partner's links.
